Japan Here I come!

British Airways brand new first class fleet. Kudos BA!

Japan Here I Come!

The first leg of The Shoeholic book and Shoeholics Magazine world tour began on a high note thank God. Thanks to accumulated air mile points on British Airways I was able to try out their new first class cabin on their new fleet. I have to say it was worth checking out. The pampering was top notch compared to the last time I was on their first class cabin to India a few years ago. That was a disaster. I saw a great improvement this time around. For the first time in years (flying), I slept like a baby throughout the 12-hour flight from Paris where I had just taken in the Haute Couture shows. This would be my 4th trip to Japan.

Upon my arrival at the Ritz Carlton, I couldn’t help noticing the view from my high floor suite. It was breathtaking. Just about every building’s rooftop has a helipad for their helicopters. I should move here! LOL!

A banquet Tofu meal in Japan. Yummy!

View from hotel suite. Notice the helipads everywhere.

Japanese toilet features

As usual, you can always trust the Japanese with esthetiques. Everything in Japan looks neat and in their place. The heated seat in my hotel room was no exception. It has it’s built in flusher sound, deodorizer, bidet et.al.

Some trains were reserved for just women. If only we could have this in New York too!

I made new friends in Osaka.

Kyoto, Japan. A very lovely town, very cute and full of history.

Now on to our mission in Japan. The Japanese ladies are very fashionable and very proud of their culture. The moment word got out that we were in town to promote Shoeholics Magazine, the pictures from some of the readers who had already bought their copies started pouring in! Some were taken at our promotion events. Priceless! town to promote Shoeholics Magazine, the pictures from some of the readers who had already bought their copies started pouring in! Haute Couture, Spring-Summer 2012 Collection

Stephane Rolland Haute Couture, Paris

Paris: Spring-Summer 2012 Haute Couture Collection.

On my way to my book world tour in Asia, I stopped by Paris to take in the Haute Couture shows and of course to check out the shoes! I have been attending the shows for about 12 years now but for the first time saw the shows as press and client. Very refreshing and different. It was so nice to see some old friends in Paris as well. I had a FANTASTIC time seeing some of the best haute couture shows such as Dior, Givenchy, Gaultier, Stephane Rolland and had a chance to break in my new camera. It was so much fun, like old times. It’s so good to be back! Sorry I over slept and missed seeing Chanel ;(

You can see the complete coverage and video footage of some of the shows I attended by visiting the Shoeholics Club website.
