A collective of Nigerian activists, entrepreneurs, dreamers, friends & supporters gathered up today in NYC to celebrate living in their truth at the Pride March. A movement largely frowned upon in Africa as a whole. The group first came together in 2013 to protest the Nigerian government’s law prohibiting same-gender marriage and other relationships, and have continued to resist the oppressive law through lobbying and community education. The group has marched at the parade every year to raise awareness on the plight of LGBTQI Nigerians and Africans. They left no stone unturned thanks to their executive and art director Tori Famuyiwa who spent endless hours designing the attires and the vehicle, bringing Wakanda to life!
