Fashion: All The News Fit For Print

20130917_133205x copyAn ode to Sex and The City movie today. Who could forget the Carrie Bradshaw newspaper print dress in the show.  I happen to have the matching newspaper jacket from the same designer, Christian Dior 2000 collection, paired with a Chanel vintage lace skirt and Zara gold leather flats with crystal for comfort.

Viva Mexico!

20130915_194455xWhat better way to celebrate Mexican Independence day in New York City on a Sunday? Headed to Lavo for a little paradise of “Moulin Rouge” within a restaurant with my lovely friend Tori. The dress code was green, red or white. I opted for 2 out of the 3 colors in Dolce and Gabbana ensemble. It was so much fun just watching the performers and revelers while I snapped away. Viva Mexico!

Below are some of my findings. 🙂

9/11, A Day Of Remembrance

58652_10151930896206654_856807702_nToday, Sept 11. I’m moved by the fact that it was 12 years ago I watched people sacrifice their lives at the World Trade Center, literally a block away from my apartment at the time. What I saw that day can never be put in words, ever! Many recall the day from live TV but wish what I saw was on TV and not in person right before my eyes. Someone else would have been in therapy after that but I dealt with it my own way. My grief is nothing compared to relatives of people I saw breathing their last on that day. Let’s not only remember the day but the month and beyond. May all of your souls rest in peace dear friends. May God be with you.

Fashion: Suited For Screening

20130909_163523xLast night, I got invited to a movie screening and a fashion party both finishing and starting minutes apart. It is afterall NY Fashion Week. So I had to figure out an attire that would work for both occasions. A pinstripe jacket over skinny black jeans with an unmistakable red flower, red sandals and Swarovski crystal embellished necktie did the trick. 🙂

The Most Futuristic Shoes EVER!

For the first time in a long time I was actually speechless when I spotted this creation yesterday. I had to try them on! These must be the most futuristic looking thing out there today! Yes, that is actually a wearable art, –SHOES! Just when I thought I had seen it all. In a strange way I actually like them! I won’t mind getting one just to place on my mantle as decoration. Shoeholics magazine should get a hold of these! And speaking of which. I’m still yet to put my Halloween costume together for this year’s parade in New York City. Hmm…(fingers twirling on the table…pondering).

Fashion: Floral Matters

20130905_134536xFloral print frock is all the rage for fall believe it or not. Just about every designer under the sun has a floral print in their fall collection. Click here to read about my previous “Garden of Eden” blog on the trend.

A Cause Against Sexual Violence

20130904_193605xI had the pleasure of attending a charity event in New York City with my girlfriends last night. The star studded affair which took place aboard the Hornblower luxurious yacht was in support of RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network). It’s the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the country. The event’s Master of Ceremony was none other than Steven Lewis which also included silent auction, live band and sightseeing of the Statue of Liberty on the Hudson River. The evening presented many of my friends including acting classmates Pat Cleveland, designer Chong Cha, & Rose Thorn. For more information on the organization and how to show your support, please visit www.rainn.org. The organization also ensures that rapists are brought to justice!

Fashion: Romping In Romper

20130903_130216xWe’re just about almost through with 2013, the Chinese year of the snake. The was the perfect choice for a breezy warm day in NYC with an added spot of color burst of neon leather bag and thong jelly wedge shoes to brighten the look. I’ve been in a neon mode this past few days. What can I say. It keeps my spirit up. 🙂

Labor Day Parade, A Politician Rally

1240493_10151883688224602_1540167006_n

Yours truly

The 46th annual West Indies Day Parade 2013 in Brooklyn (Labor Day Parade) compared to last year was a bit modest and slightly commercial. Despite the threatening rain and extreme humidity, it didn’t slow down the participants. Politicians vying for votes took to the parade like it was going out of fashion. At first you would have thought it was a “politician men march” due to the large numbers which included the likes of Spitzer to Weiner wooing the crowd. Mayor Bloomberg walked the entire parade route drenched in sweat!

So without further ado, please preview the pictures and video footage. You DEFINITELY DO NOT want to miss viewing the video footage. Just make sure your kids are nicely tucked in bed before you press play. :)

As usual darling, all rights reserved :)
