I have observed many pale white skin women aging rather quickly compared to their easy tanning white counterparts but take a look at Academy Award winning actress, Nicole Kidman! I usually don’t coo over any Hollywood personality but this one is hard to ignore. She hasn’t aged a day in 20 years! She’s a timeless beauty without a single hair out of place! I would like to know the fountain of youth she swims in!

It’s that time of the year, the month of October to remember and support a great cause. Breast cancer is still alive and well and we need to each find our own special way to help spread the word far and wide.  I’m wearing pink today for my dear friend and one of my role models, Edna. Click here to read her unique survival story. She is a strong survivor and still going strong at 72! I hope to be half as strong and free spirited when I get to be her age. Her energy is contagious and I can’t get enough! Just look at her “Forever 71” picture she took shortly before her 72 birthday farther below. Isn’t she quite something? Gosh, I love this woman! The Association of Indians in America put on a fabulous Deepavali Festival of Lights event at South Street Seaport in New York City yesterday. It gave me the perfect excuse to dust off the red silk salwar kameez I bought and wore in India during my visit. Still good as new and still fits! Thank God. I blended in quite well considering most southern Indians are usually as dark skin as me and I happen to speak a bit of Hindi, just a bit. The event had food, merchandise vendors and live entertainment. Water street could have been mistaken for a street fair in New Delhi. I had loads of fun judging by the images below which includes me getting a henna and immersing myself in the Bollywood movie set scenery. 🙂

I have covered many international heritage day parades in New York City and figured why not one with my heritage as well. The 2013 Nigerian Independence day parade would be my first. It was so much fun! These images below tell the tale of a very happy gathering despite their tribal differences and political views. Hope to do it again next year. God willing of course! 🙂

I honestly thought this concept of heeless shoes would be long gone by now but somehow always creeps back into stores. Here I am taking mine out for yet another “spin”. I first wore the spiked pair sometime last year with Union Jack flag leggings. Only this time with a pair of “open fly” print design on cropped jeans, Swarovski crystal peace symbol tank and bellow sleeve cropped wool jacket.

If you’re an oyster lover then you only need to be at one particular location today, before 11pm tonight on Stone Street just a block from Wall Street in New York City. It’s Oyster Week! I didn’t even know of such a thing until today. The event is a celebration of the benevolent bivalve loved and consumed by so many. In the week of September 21-29, the festival will present a curated collection of oyster-centric gatherings at various locations throughout the city.
