I barely made it off the plane today from a lovely spring break trip to South Korea and Japan only to be met by a protest march to end injustice in America. An ugly reminder of how backward the country, “the land of the free” really is! I happen to have 2 black adult male friends living comfortably in Asia and I often wondered why they would choose to live in a country where they had to start fresh on culture and new languages. Upon seeing their live styles and calm spirit in their newly adopted countries, one look at their glowing skin and peace of mind says it all. While I’m still heavily jet lagged from my trip, I summoned up enough strength to join the march on Broadway heading downtown. After having spent a great time in Asia it pains me to see what is happening to my fellow people of color in America, especially the men who are being gunned down by cops without reason. Whether “they” like it or not, black lives matter! We’re not going anywhere! For goodness sake, this is 2015 not 1853!

The devastating East Village, NYC gas explosion, fire and building collapse disaster yesterday left in its wake 3 people missing and many in critical conditions. Today however, had gawkers and news crew (myself included taking these images below with my cell) crawling all over the site trying to get a better glimpse of the on going demolition to clear out the rubble and possibly to find the missing people. News stations with bigger money muscles wasted no time in hoisting 3 helicopters over the site for better vision. Cars nearby were also damaged! My heart and prayer goes out to all affected by the disaster. God help us all.

OMG!!! I just died! I have seen caucasians dance to African music, utter a few words in various African languages, etc. Alas! Here’s a caucasian lady, a British flight attendant by training COOKING Nigerian food while giving instructions and expressing the joy of cooking the meal in a strong spoken, almost no accent pidgin english with a few smatterings of the Igbo dialect!!! I had to watch this video 10 times to digest the shock. Impressive will be an understatement. Now, if only I could taste that food she cooked! “Oyinbo Princess”, my hats off to you. Please carry on! 🙂

According to the police report, the singer claims her daughter punched her first and she was trying to protect herself.

Her daughter alleged the fight started when the R&B Divas star came into her room and demanded that she clean up and look after her children, who were running around the house naked.

According to police: ‘Ms. Diamond Stone then went on to state that Ms. Angie Stone started [getting] in her face, telling her she needed to leave because she is tired [of] her.

‘Ms. Diamond Stone then stated her and Ms. Angie Stone started to argue, and that’s when a physical altercation started to occur.’

Diamond and a witness, family friend and rapper Blondy Chisolm – who was once in The Sequence with Angie – claimed they did not know who threw the first punch.

Angie told police after she was punched by her daughter and grabbed the metal stand to protect herself, accidentally hitting Diamond in the face.

Police said in the report: ‘Once she realised this she quickly put the stand down and attempted to get away from Ms. Diamond Stone.

‘Ms. Angie Stone then stated while she tried to get away, Ms. Diamond Stone continued to come after her as if to strike her again but stated that Ms. Blondy Chisolm came to break up the fight.’

Diamond however, claims her mother swung at her intentionally and it was her, and not Angie, who walked away and called 911.

Both women were taken to the DeKalb County Police Department but Diamond was later released with no charges.

Angie however, remains in jail after being charged with a felony count of aggravated domestic assault.

Only in America…sigh…only in America.

While the world is literally still falling over themselves upon seeing Kim Kardashian’s new blonde locks, Oscar winning actor Jared Leto upstages the reality star in Paris! I bet she wasn’t expecting to be sharing the spotlight of blonde mane when she set out this morning in Paris to debut the hair. Apparently Jared must have read the memo that blonde and velvet jackets are in this spring! Another irony is the fact that they both debuted their respective crops at the same fashion week show of Balmain!

Just when I was busy asking myself if blondes really do have more fun. Guess, this would serve as the answer. Time to grab the bleach and get to work! Let the battle of the blondes begin! SNAP!

Bullying is NEVER acceptable nor is it cool or sexy in any way shape or form! Watch as a 17 year old beats up a 12 year old girl in Italy while their schoolmates record the ordeal before coming to her aid at the last minute. My heart bleeds for the young girl. Parents, please educate your kids!

OUCH! This is embarrassing! Last week, Lupita Nyong’s Oscar red carpet dress was reportedly stolen from her hotel room in Hollywood shortly after the awards. I honestly don’t think the dress was ever stolen but more of a PR stunt (thieves never give stuff back) and have always known those pearls weren’t real. The value of the dress is valued at $150k because that’s the perception the designer (Calvin Klein) wants for the press, thought to be made of real pearls. Now the truth has been uncovered. The dress was reportedly returned by the thieves in a garbage bag after discovering it’s made entirely of fake pearls. Do they not know of the teeth test? Duh! Yawn…anything for press.

The Dark Ages are almost upon us. It breaks my heart to watch ISIS members take sledge hammers to 3000 yr old artifacts and relics at Mosul Museum in Iraq. What really baffles me is why couldn’t they just gather the collection and sell them to the highest bidders in the Western world since they sometimes hold people at ransom for money over their deaths? Everyone is entitled to their causes but why take it out on stones that can not speak but simply to educate us of a time gone by? As an art lover, my heart feels heavy with sadness to watch an era come to an end –literally.

Julianne Moore & Eddie Redmayne

The Oscars as usual brings out the glam and the glum of Hollywood and last night was no different. As expected, both of my favorites took home the golden dudes. It’s long overdue for such talents as Julianne Moore to score one and a fairly newcomer Eddie Redmayne also took home the top acting honor. Their respective performances in their roles moved me to tears at the theaters.

Ok, now on to the fashion. Everyone looked razzle dazzle and I applaud. But I must be honest. How many more times is JLO going to play the deep plunging V necklines on red carpets? YAWN….I quite prefer the number she wore to the Vanity Fair Oscar afterparty. Perhaps it’s time her glam team start revising their formula or risk more faux pas like what happened last night when Robert Duvall’s wife was seen waltzing the red carpet in similar garb as JLO. And again looked like the one on Katie Cassidy on the red carpet!!! OY!

Lady Gaga had a fair share of risk appearing in what looked like she was wearing a full apron and gloves to scrub off some dead bodies in the bathtub. And Lupita’s Calvin Klein dress must weigh a ton with all of those 6000 faux pearls sewn on her little frame. Scarlett Johansson overkilled her Versace gown with the necklace. Chrissy Teigen bared too much chest and legs at the same time, over done. While many others need to fire their stylists, Zoe Kravitz needs to hire one fast!

The only outfit that really had me salivating? Well, Rosamund Pike of Gone Girl. Overall, Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad and Givenchy killed it with Oscar gowns this year!

Well, there’s always next year. Now back to work!
