Can you believe this? The ink on the court papers freeing Zimmerman barely dried and a juror is already trying to profit from the case! WOW! Thank God to twitter!

A lot has been made about the controversial Zimmerman Trial Juror B37. First she appeared on Anderson Cooper and made comments expressing sympathy and support for Zimmerman. But she really sparked an outrage by announcing — fewer than 48 hours after George Zimmerman was declared Not Guilty — that she’d signed a book deal.

Well, one passionate person on Twitter who goes by @MoreandAgain took things into her own hands.

First, she sought out the publishing company that signed the juror…

She quickly whipped up a Change.org petition calling for literary agent Sharlene Martin to drop Juror B37. Within minutes, the petition had more than a thousand supporters. Martin eventually caved and released this statement:

Naturally, it was only a matter of time before the juror came to her senses (or realized she was getting dropped by Martin and the book deal was a dead end) and released her own statement:

Thus ends one of the dumbest attempts at exploitation imaginable. Juror B37′s decision to originally pursue the book deal was insensitive at best and revealing of serious issues with the jury at worst.If anything, this is a pretty fascinating look at the power of Twitter and what a little bit of passion and movement can accomplish. It’s not like @MoreAndAgain has a million followers or anything either so it was pretty much word of mouth.

The Empire State Building is about to start giving Macy’s a run for their money by competing with the retail giant in who can attract the most sets of eyeballs during the Macy’s Fireworks. This would be a big step for the historical landmark’s usually stagnant lighting system to a dynamic one. The newly installed 4th of July light show at the Empire State Building last night was spectacular! This would be a first for the historical landmark, an empire state of mind!

June 30, 2013 Gay Pride was anything but boring. The legendary Harry Belafonte grand marshalled the event along side Edie Windsor. Also present were political figures such as Mayor Bloomberg, Senator Chuck Schumer, Christie Quinn, Governor Cuomo who helped herald same sex marriage in New York State and Weiner made a pit stop as well. Couples who have been together for ages came out to celebrate. Some came with their young children in tow. The colorful affair was threatened by rain but that didn’t faze the die hard New Yorkers who had spent months in preparation. I certainly am looking forward to New Year already! God willing! 🙂

We love seeing celebrities dazzle the red carpet but very few people actually bother to spend a few seconds to look at their feet….ahem…shoes! As a die hard shoe lover, heel lover for that matter, my greatest fear is having “odd” looking feet. I am quite tall so having long toes is not something I can avoid. It is what it is. However, bunions, hammer toes, et. al. scares the bejesus out of me. I agree, no one is perfect but seeing some of the images featured below reminds me each day to alternate my love for high heels with flats! It’s perfectly ok to give the feet some rest and air them out once in a while.

It appears that could be the “reigning” look of the season and beyond! No longer required to wear color blocking to break off a busy pattern. It is now “IN” to actually wear matching patterns. Who knew! Leading designers such as Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana are already paving the way for trend in their resort and fall 2014 collection respectively. Fast fashion retail giants are already cashing in ahead of the trend by stocking the looks in their stores starting this summer. I managed to try on a set during my visit to a Zara store recently. While there, a store nearby also displayed a bolder exotic set for men on a mannequin. The look is already making its way to the streets, on people out and about, including Rihanna!

When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall Is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror (i.e., they can see you, but you can ‘ t see them)?

There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms . It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by looking at it. So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at?

Just conduct this simple test: Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is GENUINE mirror.

However, if your Fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail,

Then BEWARE! IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!

OMG! Have you heard?!

As of today June 26, 2013: The United States Supreme Court just declared the Defense of Mariage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional. Now, validly married gay couples cannot be denied more
than 1000 rights allowed under the law to heterosexual couples. The Supreme Court of the United States has just dismissed California’s Proposition 8. Now same-sex couples will be allowed to marry in the state of California. Basically saying the Supreme Court did not rule on same-sex marriage, but allows states to determine who can be married, eliminates federal government’s interference with rights conferred by marriage. This is a good step towards the ultimate destination. Folks in California can now breathe easier.

This news couldn’t come at a better time. This week also happens to be Gay Pride week which will be concluded this coming weekend with a flamboyant parade in New York City. There’s now more reason to celebrate and be merry! Equality for all! Yes hunty! 🙂

Apparently western Tampax (tampon) commercials are too light weight for the Russian market. Ladies! Watch this video footage below if you love your body. If it doesn’t convince you to run out and buy a box of Tampax before hitting the beach I don’t know what will. Just make sure you are air tight before jumping heading out to the beach this summer. Too hilarious. 🙂

Mind over madness on Times Square. It’s the annual first day of summer (summer solstice) celebration New York yoga style which meant getting out the mat and heading over to Times Square to lay on the street and shut out the world while meditating and performing many Vinyasas in between heavy New York City traffic. This is New York, a town where anything is possible.

Could the 6 foot 5 actor Armie Hammer possibly be the man for the “50 shades of grey” movie? Here’s is interview from Playboy magazine.

PLAYBOY: You’re a guy who has gone on record saying he’s obsessed with tying knots and who often carries a rope and a knot guide with him wherever he goes. Now we’re hearing about a mask. Is there anything we need to know about your sex life?
HAMMER: Well, if you’re married to a feminist [journalist, restaurateur and actress Elizabeth Chambers] as I am, then it’s…. I don’t know how much we can put here without my parents being embarrassed, but I used to like to be a dominant lover. I liked the grabbing of the neck and the hair and all that. But then you get married and your sexual appetites change. And I mean that for the better—it’s not like I’m suffering in any way. But you can’t really pull your wife’s hair. It gets to a point where you say, “I respect you too much to do these things that I kind of want to do.”

PLAYBOY: And how does she respond?
HAMMER: The two us will literally break out laughing in the middle of it, finish up and be like, “Well, that was oddly fun!” So it becomes a new kind of thing that’s less about “I want to dominate you” and more about both of us having a really good time. It’s just a different style.

Armie Hammer played the rich twins in the Facebook movie “Social Network” and will appear next to Johnny Depp in the upcoming “Lone Ranger” movie.
